The two most common complaints with ladies' straight pants and trousers are: (1) tightness or pulling when sitting down (crotch pull), and (2) pant bottom rising up while walking. Mastering the hip-to-crotch ratio and back-rise extension completely eliminates these fitting issues.
1. Standard Crotch Depth (Aasan) Formula
Front Crotch Depth = (Hip / 4) + 1.0" to 1.5"
Always cut the back panel rise 1.5" to 2.0" higher than the front panel to provide comfortable sitting room.
